The Madurai Bench of the High Court of Madras has ordered actress Raadhika and Nalini and director Vikraman to file a reply with it in a case filed against them for their alleged attempt at threatening private television channels.
Karmegam, a practicing advocate from Virudhunagar, filed a petition with the Madurai Bench stating that “Small-screen actors and actresses staged a day-long protest on 15th April in Chennai against dubbed television serials getting broadcast on various television channels.
Raadhika, president of small-screen producers’ association and Nalini, president of small-screen artistes’ association and Vikraman, president of directors’ association, spoke on the day issuing threats to privation regional television channels for continuing to broadcast dubbed television serials. I request that a case be registered against them.”
When the petition came up before Justice M.M. Sundaresh, Peter Rameshkumar appeared on behalf of Karmegam. Govt. counsel Prabha said that Govt. needed time to discuss the contents of the petition with the DGP of the State Police.» Download This File
Following this, the Judge postponed the next hearing of the case and ordered that notices be issued to Raadhika, Nalini and Vikraman for filing replies with the Court at once.
